Quilt Raffle

from 5.00

This beautiful quilt was donated by our generous family member to help raise money for Rodney, a local kiddo with big health challenges. Please read his story below and support him if you can.

Meet Rodney Torres, born July 11th, 2013. After a normal full- term pregnancy, Mom and Dad were so happy when he came into their lives. A day after his arrival at the Port Angeles hospital they headed home with their sweet boy, thinking everything was right with the world. Then on the 13th, just two days after his birth, they noticed something was wrong with Rodney and he was running a fever, so they called 911. The ambulance took him to the ER in Port Angeles and it was at this point they were told that their tiny, 2-day old son was having repetitive seizures. The doctor told them that the PA facilities were not equipped to handle Rodney’s needs so he was immediately flown to Seattle Children’s Hospital. The family spent an entire month at Seattle Children's Hospital, hoping when Rodney was released that he would be healed. Unfortunately, that was not the case as he was diagnosed with epilepsy and told his tonic seizures would continue. For the first 3 years of Rodney’s life they visited Seattle Children's Hospital once a month. From there it went to once every 3 months and currently they go every 6 months. Rodney continues to have seizures constantly, up to as many as 12 seizures in day lasting anywhere from 20 to 35 seconds. He is now six years old and just finishing up his first year of kindergarten. He loves playing soccer and basketball as well as watching others play basketball. Rodney can't talk and can't ever be left alone. His health and well-being are a constant worry and financial strain on his family with no promise of an end in sight.

As part of our commitment to our community and our fellow humans, B&B Family Farm is privileged to be raising money for the Torres Family as their 6-year-old son, Rodney, faces constant health issues. Thank you to Terry McCloskey for the generous donation of the beautiful quilt for our 2019 raffle.
