It’s amazing what a little sunshine, some warmer weather and the perfect amount of rain will do for new little lavender plants! Not to mention all the other plants around the farm! Beautiful colors are popping up all over and we couldn’t be more pleased. Our efforts are now focused on preparing for our first lavender harvest. Our new plants won’t be ready for another 2 years, but the mature culinary plants should be ready by mid July and the Grosso plants shortly after that. Add a week or two for drying and we’ll be shipping orders!
Zion has also been busy planting, nurturing and weeding our very large vegetable gardens along with some berries! We should have an entire salad in a few weeks… greens, tomatoes, cucumbers, bell peppers, carrots, onions, peas, asparagus and strawberries, raspberries and blueberries for dessert!
Given that we moved here in the coldest, wettest time of year, this weather change and all the life it has created is a welcome sight.
