That means all of our favorite friends are out and about around the farm. We want to share some of the great birds around our farm. The Olympic Peninsula is home to all sorts of birds from hawk and eagles to small birds like quail, junkos, and sparrows. Here are some beautiful birds from around our farm for your viewing pleasure.
Every year we love seeing the baby quails grow from little walnuts all the way up to full sized birds. It is quite a sight to follow each day. They are easily frightened so taking pictures of these families is never easy
We have a nest right about our lavender bud cleaning machine that all becomes a home for a few baby barn swallows each year. We love to see them grow and fly the nest. Below you will see the babies from a few weeks ago and a picture now of two siblings battling it out in our barn.
We also have plenty of large birds on the Olympic Peninsula. Occasionally, one of them will take a chicken for dinner. However, our pet chickens are quite plump these days and it has been a while since one was swooped away.
There are plent of other birds aroun the farm. Here are a few more. I personally love the worm eating Robins.
